The SDFPL often receive email from people wondering how they go about joining the league.

To this extent we have put this page together in order to make the process easier and it should give you a rough guide to what is involved.

Application "Open" period
September - March. The league format is reviewed after this date. At this time applicants already passing required criteria are reviewed by the committee of managers for entry the following season.
Although the summer seems the best months to try and enter a league, the structure of the following season will already have been decided.

Who can Apply?
Although the SDFPL is a Christian based league, this does not mean that only church/christian teams can join.
Although we do look more favorably on church based sides, we will review each applicants on their own merits and performances/outcomes of friendly "trial" games with current SDFPL sides.

Criteria Required
New Teams MUST
- Be FA affiliated (our sides CANNOT play teams not affiliated)
- Have played at least three different SDFPL sides and have personal recommendation from the managers of those teams before March 1st.
- Have a home pitch (with proof of hire)
- Have attended an SDFPL managers meeting prior to entry
- Already have read and understood our rules.
- Provide basic items for friendlies. Equipments such as netting, a match quality football, complete team strip and basic pitchside medical equipment.
- Have given good indication that team would be able to fulfill fixtures.
- Be made up of AT LEAST 16 regular players.

"I've read the above, I'm still interested....What now?
